This is my Wordle clone that I created in the depths of lockdown in 2021-2022. When Wordle started to gain popularity, I began seeing the ⬜🟩🟨🟩⬜ in my social media feeds. Then my wife started playing it. And seeing her struggle, I couldn't help but fall into the rabbit hole.

But then in January 2022, Wordle enacted an unforgivable sin. It used "favor" as the answer. As someone that practices 'real' English, favor is not a 5 letter word. So instead of getting mad, I made my own wordle clone and shared it amongst friends. I even added in some 'crude' words back in at the complaints of some of my fellow wordlers. I used Godot 3.3 game engine as I just finished up completing a tetris-match-3 clone game so I was familiar with it. Plus it was quite easy to prototype and implement highscores using PHP and a self-hosted database.

I decided today to publish it on itch.io as part of my portfolio. I hope it brings some joy to those that play it.
